ENROLMENT

We would always recommend that you view the nursery before making your final decision to place your child with us.

Following your visit to The Bruce Nursery the process of enrolment is as follows:

We will check our occupancy to ensure the days or sessions you require are available. If your required sessions are available, we will issue you with the Enrolment form, Consent Form and all About Me Form for you to complete with your child’s personal information.

A deposit of £50 is required to reserve a place at The Bruce Nursery. This amount will be deducted from your first month’s invoice.

Upon receipt of the above forms and deposit, we will confirm your nursery place with you, in writing.

You will be invoiced monthly in advance. Our preferred method of payment is Bank Transfer or Tax Free Childcare.

Fees are normally reviewed annually; however, they are subject to review/change with one month’s notice.

CHILDCARE TAX CREDITS

You may be able to apply for Tax Credits to help with your childcare costs. To find out if you are eligible contact:

TAX-FREE CHILDCARE

You may be eligible for up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the costs of childcare. This goes up to £1,000 every 3 months if a child is disabled (up to £4,000 a year)

If you receive Tax-Free Childcare, you’ll set up an online childcare account for your child. For every £8 you pay into this account, the government will pay in £2 to use to pay your provider.

You can get Tax-Free Childcare at the same time as your annual 1140 hours Aberdeen City Council funded childcare, if you’re eligible for both.

FUNDED HOURS

(3 years to those not yet attending primary school)

Funding is available for your child’s pre-school learning from Aberdeen City Council.

The Nursery Manager can give you details on how to apply for this. The funding is available to all children after their third birthday and is not means tested. Your child will become eligible for the funded hours from the school term following their third birthday in August, January or April.

All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to a maximum of 1140 hours of funded Early Learning and Childcare per academic year. There is a consumables charge of £5.70 per day applied on days where funded hours are claimed.

The consumables charge is to cover all extra curricular activities, festivals, celebrations and additional materials which are spread through the year.

2 YEAR OLD FUNDING

If your family circumstance meet certain criteria, some 2 year old children may be entitled to up to 1140 hours of funded Early Learning and Childcare.

Please see Aberdeen City Council website for information on Eligible 2’s Funding.

EMERGENCY PLACES

Should you require extra days/sessions for your child at short notice, perhaps due to illness, bereavement or work commitments, we will make every effort to accommodate your request if there is an available place in your child’s age group.

These emergency sessions are charged at the normal nursery fee rate.
